What the Startup Awards Recognise
The Startup Awards are a track within the Golden Entrepreneur Awards that recognises founders and teams of young companies, typically up to around seven years old, for traction, innovation and leadership. Entries are scored by the Jury team or the Management of Golden Tree across ten evaluation areas, with no public voting.
Every established company began as a startup: a handful of people, a clear insight and the commitment to build something new. The Startup Awards 2026, a core track within the Golden Entrepreneur Awards, are awards for startups at that stage of creation and acceleration. They recognise the founders who took the leap, the teams who delivered under pressure, and the young companies already changing how their markets work.
This track is deliberately broad and inclusive. It welcomes pre-seed ventures still finding product–market fit, bootstrapped businesses scaling profitably on their own terms, and venture-backed scale-ups racing to capture a category. Whether your startup is two years old or six, software or hardware, consumer or B2B, the question our Jury team or the Management of Golden Tree asks is the same: is this team building something meaningful, and are they executing with skill, speed and vision? When the answer is yes, the Startup Awards give that work international recognition. Startups whose main story is a new product or technology may also fit the Startup Innovation Awards, and companies already expanding fast into new markets may fit the Scale-Up Awards.
Unlike rankings driven by follower counts or popularity contests, the Golden Entrepreneur Awards are decided entirely on merit. There is no public voting. A panel of investors, operators and industry specialists reviews every nomination against a structured framework, so that the startups recognised in 2026 are selected for the leadership, innovation and traction they can evidence, not for their audience size.
