Recognising Japan's most outstanding founders, startup leaders, SMEs and growth companies โ judged independently on merit and celebrated on a global stage in Dubai.
From Tokyo and Osaka to Fukuoka, Kyoto and Sapporo, a new generation of Japanese founders is reshaping how the world experiences technology, manufacturing, design and deep science. The Golden Entrepreneur Awards 2026 puts that work in front of an international audience.
Japan has long been synonymous with engineering precision, craftsmanship and globally trusted brands. Today, that heritage is meeting a fast-evolving startup culture. Government-backed startup strategies, a maturing venture capital market, deep-tech research spinning out of leading universities, and a renewed focus on entrepreneurship have combined to create one of Asia's most exciting โ and most underrated โ founder ecosystems.
What makes Japan distinctive is the way founders blend rigour with ambition. Hardware and robotics startups carry the discipline of Japanese manufacturing into new categories. Software and SaaS companies are digitising industries that ran on paper for decades. AI and machine-learning teams are tackling problems in healthcare, mobility, logistics and the aging society with quiet, methodical excellence. And the country's enormous base of small and medium enterprises โ the true backbone of the economy โ is increasingly led by a younger, globally minded class of owner-operators ready to scale beyond the domestic market.
The Golden Entrepreneur Awards exists to find these stories and give them the recognition they deserve. We celebrate measurable achievement and original thinking, not connections or marketing budgets. For Japanese founders who have historically preferred to let the work speak for itself, this is a platform where the work genuinely does the talking โ assessed by an independent international jury and amplified to partners, investors and customers around the world.

Japan's entrepreneurship landscape has shifted dramatically. National startup initiatives, expanded funding pipelines, accelerators in every major city and stronger links between corporations and emerging companies have made it easier than ever to build, fund and grow a venture in Japan.
This momentum spans both bleeding-edge startups and the country's vast SME sector โ manufacturers, service firms, regional champions and family businesses modernising for a new era. The Awards are designed to recognise excellence across this full spectrum, from a first-time founder finding product-market fit to an established owner driving a multi-generation business into new markets.
