Celebrating Canada's founders, startup builders, SME owners and high-growth companies β recognised on the world stage through merit-based, independent jury evaluation.
From Toronto and Waterloo to Vancouver, MontrΓ©al, Calgary and Halifax, Canada has built one of the world's most respected entrepreneurial ecosystems β and the Golden Entrepreneur Awards 2026 brings that achievement to a global audience.
Canada's entrepreneurial story is one of breadth and resilience. Across ten provinces and three territories, founders are building companies that compete internationally while staying rooted in strong local communities. The country pairs world-class research universities with deep pools of engineering and design talent, a stable regulatory environment, and a culture that welcomes immigration and global trade. The result is an ecosystem where ambitious ideas are translated into durable businesses across technology, clean energy, agriculture, financial services, life sciences, manufacturing and the creative industries.
The TorontoβWaterloo corridor has become one of North America's densest technology clusters, home to fast-growing software, fintech and artificial intelligence companies. MontrΓ©al stands among the world's leading hubs for AI research and applied machine learning, anchored by a vibrant academic community and a growing roster of commercial ventures. Vancouver's founders connect Pacific markets with North American capital, while Calgary and Edmonton are channelling deep energy expertise into cleantech and digital transformation. Atlantic Canada and the Prairies continue to produce nimble, capital-efficient companies that punch well above their weight.
Small and medium-sized enterprises are the backbone of this economy. They employ a substantial share of the private-sector workforce and drive a disproportionate amount of innovation and job creation. For these owner-operators and scale-up leaders, independent recognition matters: it validates years of disciplined building, opens doors with investors and enterprise customers, and signals quality in markets where trust is hard-won. The Golden Entrepreneur Awards exist precisely to honour that work β fairly, transparently and on merit.
Canadian companies are increasingly built for global scale from day one. Strong digital infrastructure, access to North American and trans-Pacific markets, and a steady flow of venture and growth capital have helped founders move from product-market fit to international expansion faster than ever. The Golden Entrepreneur Awards 2026 recognise this trajectory β celebrating not just the idea, but the disciplined execution that turns it into measurable impact.

Answers to the questions Canadian founders ask most about entering and winning.
Any founder, co-founder, SME owner, scale-up leader or growth-company executive based in or operating from Canada can enter. This includes early-stage startup founders, established SME owners, technology and AI builders, women and young entrepreneurs, and leaders of social enterprises across every Canadian province and territory.
Winners are chosen exclusively by an independent jury on merit. Each nomination is assessed against defined evaluation areas including entrepreneurial leadership, innovation, market impact, revenue growth, business sustainability and scalability. There is no public voting β outcomes are decided on the strength of the entry alone.
Canada's strengths in technology, artificial intelligence, clean energy, fintech and life sciences map well to our Technology Entrepreneur, AI Founder, Startup, Women Entrepreneur and Young Entrepreneur categories, alongside sector-agnostic awards for SMEs and high-growth scale-ups.
You can nominate entirely online from Canada. Winners and finalists are invited to the gala at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi on Saturday 14 November 2026, but attendance is an opportunity rather than a requirement. Recognition, certification and digital assets are provided regardless of attendance.
Winners receive a trophy and certification, a winner profile, official use of the winner emblem, inclusion in announcements and media features, and global visibility across a programme spanning 50+ countries β strengthening credibility with investors, partners and customers.
Nominations are reviewed on a rolling basis ahead of the 14 November 2026 gala. Because evaluation is sequential and places are limited, Canadian founders are encouraged to submit early to give the jury maximum time to assess their entry.
